Hello there, welcome. I am so glad we are meeting each other for the first time. I am thrilled you are taking an interest in my work. My name is Rachell. And I not only love snapping away at pictures, but documenting stories as well. Each session that I have the opportunity of shooting is always a memorable experience that will be shared for many years to come. I serve in the Kansas City Metro area, but have and are always willing to travel as far as you'd like!

I have been a professional portrait photographer now for the last ten years. I am one of those people that looks forward going to their job each day. I am a lifestyle photographer and while I understand a family photo session will need a couple of traditional photos, most of the time I will be chasing your kiddos around taking lots of candid shots. All of my photos are taken with natural light. Yes, that means we will be enjoying the great outdoors come sun, rain, or snow. My guarantee to you is a fun and special experience that will be captured to last a lifetime. Besides getting to meet new and interesting people along the way here are a few fun factoids about me:

  1. I'm an early morning riser. I don't think you can ever start your mornings early enough.

  2. My fur baby is my Boxer, Roxy Rae. She's more beauty than brains.

  3. My drug of choice is coffee.

  4. I don't do glitter... glue, cards, eyeshadow, I just don't touch the stuff.

  5. I easily could live off bananas and eggs.

  6. I only learned how to whistle a couple of years ago.

  7. I don't do scary movies. Ever.

  8. My favorite board game is backgammon, and I rarely lose.

  9. I have two middle names, Abry and Danette.

  10. I am a firm believer that actions speak louder than words.

That's enough about me! I want to get to know you - your significant other, your children, your pets. I promise we will have a great time working together. Please feel free to call me, email me, text me with any questions that you may have.

It was great to meet you, and I can't wait to see you at your photo session!

You've got questions?

I have answers...

You've decided you want me as your photog?

First, we will schedule a consultation at my studio to discuss the photo session and answer any questions you might have. We will also choose a session date, discuss dress attire, and brainstorm locations. A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking for lifestyle and senior sessions. A $200 non-refundable deposit is due in order to hold wedding date.

Locations... ?

As a born and raised Kansas Citian, I have acquired many options to fit your needs. Whether it being an urban feel downtown, or a natural country landscape.

I need help with outfits…

No worries, I got you covered! Once your photo session is booked I will send you a link to help you coordinate outfits. Trust me, it’s a lifesaver.

So, when do I get my pics?

I'm glad you asked... your image files are carefully processed, gently edited, and wrapped in pretty ribbons and string. Senior, family, and engagement sessions receive their images through an easy-to-use online gallery no more than 5 days after the session. Weddings can take up to 1 month. I will contact you when they are ready and to schedule a post consultation.

Want to order professional prints, albums, etc?

We have to show off those pretty pictures somehow! I will provide you with a list of print and product options I have available. Some examples include canvases, standout mounts, albums, and gallery prints.

Photog Workshop

To live a creative life we must lose our fear of being wrong.
— Joseph Chilton Pearce

Together, we learn.

I often get asked if I offer workshop/mentor programs and the answer is “HECK YES I DO!” Just like you I didn’t know where to begin when it came to learning my camera functions, using natural light, posing and all of the other seemingly endless things I wanted to learn. Luckily, I had met a truly gifted photographer that not only took me under his wing but also paved the way for my growing business and gave me a true gift; an inspired vision. I will be forever indebted to him for giving me that opportunity and in return I want to continue sharing the love.

Trust me, during my constant trek of learning I too had watched hundreds of tutorials, signed up for photog workshops, took countless classes and nothing seemed to click, pun intended. The frustration of wanting to learn gets overwhelming. So, I wanted to make sure that my workshop would be different. Unlike other things I have tried in the past this mentoring program is simple. I promise you, you will have your ah-ha moment before you walk out the door.

So let’s do coffee…

Where do we meet?

Most of the time I hold them at my home and provide snacks, drinks, or hell even wine. (hehe) However, I’m always happy to meet you at a coffee shop… because who doesn’t love coffe?

What’s all included?

Before hand, I will ask you a few questions about your camera and what you’re wanting to gain out of the session, to help me, help you! At the beginning of the workshop I will give you a handout guide full of useful information that we will discuss. Just to give you an idea we will talk about the different functions and manual settings on your DSLR, the infinite use of natural light, posing techniques, and so much more! It doesn’t end there, you will also be added to a private Facebook group along with many other creatives where you can ask questions, share articles and continue to learn!

What do I bring?

Just your camera, lens, a list of questions and yourself!

How much is this going to cost me?

One-on-one mentoring sessions last two hours and cost $200 per person. If you have a friend, family member or know of someone that you wouldn’t mind sharing your session with, you would receive 20% off one person’s fee!

How do I sign up?

Simple. Just fill out the form below and I will get back to you as quickly as I can.

I can’t wait to share experiences and learn with you!
